Backcountry Stove Use and Water Treatment

Spend the afternoon at Auburn Outdoors, learning how to build a camp kitchen for your next adventure. You’ll spend hands on time learning about everything from lightweight backpacking stove options and robust campsite cookers to water treatment and purification methods. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or you’re new to backpacking, you’ll gain insights you’ll be ready to use the next time you go out on trail.

Cherokee Rock Village Beginner Rock Climbing Trip

Rock on at Sand Rock! Join Auburn Outdoors on a climbing trip to Cherokee Rock Village for a weekend full of outdoor climbing and hanging out at the craig. Whether it's your first time climbing outside or polishing your outdoor climbing skills, you'll find community and new experiences on this trip. Participants are required to attend a pre-trip meeting on October 29th from 5 pm - 6:30 PM. Transportation, meals, campsite accommodations, and gear are included in the trip fee.


Auburn Outdoors reserves the right to cancel a trip or program due to inclement weather, natural disasters, or extenuating circumstances. In the event a trip or program must be canceled by Auburn Outdoors, a full refund will be issued to all registered participants.

If a member has registered for a trip and needs to cancel,
• Cancellations after the pre-scheduled pre-trip meeting for extended or weekend trips will NOT receive a refund of any funds
• Cancellations made less than 5 days from a day trip will NOT receive a refund of any funds, including participants not showing on the day of the trip
• Cancellations made more than 5 days from the day of the trip, will be refunded less $10, IF Auburn Outdoors is able to replace the participant with a member from the waitlist
• No refunds will be issued for trips costing $10 or less

Ready to set your own problem? During this time, you'll learn the equipment needed to set a boulder problem and get feedback from other climbers to make it the best one in the bouldering cave. Join us to increase your impact in the Auburn Outdoors Climbing Community!

Crate Stacking

Meet new friends and reach higher heights at Auburn Outdoors’ Crate Stacking Event. We will meet at Court 2 on the basketball courts to see who can create the highest stack and beat last year's record of 20 crates. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to build structures, friendships, and memories with us!

Fundies

Registration is open all semester on RWC Connect. All workshops take place at the climbing wall from 7 - 9 p.m.

Learn how to belay and tie knots for top rope climbing as well as proper equipment usage and commands used at Auburn Outdoors' Climbing Wall. Participants are eligible to take the Top Rope Skills Verification 24 hours after attending this workshop. Top Rope Skills Verification permits members to belay other members at Auburn Outdoors' Climbing Wall. If you are unable to attend the workshop after registration, please cancel online up to 4 hours in advance of the workshop. If you must cancel within 4 hours of the program, please communicate with auburnoutdoors@auburn.edu. Failure to communicate in advance will result in a $10 no-show fee.

Don't have time to stop by our bike shop at The Rec? Don't worry - skilled bike techs are out on campus to provide on-the-spot repairs, maintenance, and tune-ups to keep your wheels spinning smoothly. Look out for our friendly team on campus and stay tuned into @auburnrecwellness on Instagram to see where we'll be each month!

Women in the Wild: Sunset Hike

See new views and make a new friend on Auburn Outdoors' Woman in the Wild day hike. Spend the evening on a hike to the Lake Martin Fire Tower with other women interested in getting outside and our experienced, female trip leaders. Women in the Wild t-shirt and a good time are included in the trip fee. 


Auburn Outdoors reserves the right to cancel a trip or program due to inclement weather, natural disasters, or extenuating circumstances. In the event a trip or program must be canceled by Auburn Outdoors, a full refund will be issued to all registered participants.
