LTS Adult 1

Congratulations taking the first step in being more comfortable in the water! Come join us in Level 1 to get comfortable being, and getting into, water with and without a PFD. Working with our fun and skilled instructors, you’ll open your eyes, exhale and holding your breath underwater, float, glide and kick through the water on your front and back. This is the ideal level if you are just starting out in swimming lessons and want to learn the basics. You will also complete your CPR-A certification! Days listed below are start dates. LTS Adult 2

Now that you can jump into the shallow water, keep going! Swimmer 2 is the next level for those who are comfortable in the water but maybe haven't quite mastered their skills or are uncomfortable in deep water. Working with our dynamic and fun instructors, you will jump into deeper water and learn to be comfortable falling sideways into the water wearing a PFD. With the encouragement and guidance of our skilled instructors, you’ll be able to support yourself at the surface without an aid, learn whip kick, swim 10–15 m on your front and back, and be introduced to flutter kick interval training. You will also get started on learning some basic first aid skills on your way to a first aid certification. Days listed below are start dates. LTS Adult 3

Join the skilled instructors of the PAC pool and get comfortable in the other part of the pool as you jump into deep water and learn to tread water. New kicks will be added to get you ready for more strokes, as well as work on front and back crawl and interval training. You will complete the skills to save a life with CPR-B. LTS Adult 4

Join other students in Swimmer 4 and learn how to get oriented underwater and move your body in the water starting the Canadian Swim to Survive® Standard - so you can save yourself! With the skilled instructors at the PAC pool, you will work on additional kicks and increasing distances and your endurance. You will complete Basic First Aid so you are confident in an emergency. LTS Adult 5

The water becomes your new comfort zone as you learn to dive, treading water and complete the Canadian Swim to Survive Standard in Swimmer 5. You will learn more kicks on your back and side and refine your front and back crawl and breaststroke. Then you'll pick up the pace with 25 m sprints and interval training. LTS Adult 6

Building on the strong skills you have developed in front and back crawl and whip kick, as a Swimmer 6 you will be start underwater swimming and start on breaststroke. With encouragement from your dynamic instructor, your endurance will increased with interval training and front crawl sprints. You'll be introduced to some lifesaving items so you can keep your friends and family safe around water. Days listed are start dates. LTS Adult 7

You have come so far as a swimmer! Just because you can float don't stop improving your skills. In Swimmer 7 you will master shallow dives, cannonball entries, eggbeater kicks, and orienting yourself. Your front and back crawl (50 m swims) and breaststroke (15-25 m) will become stronger and you'll add scissor kick and head up front crawl. LTS Adult 8

DYK that you are in the age group with the highest drowning rate in Canada and second highest in Ontario (especially you guys!)? But with your Swimmer 8 skills you are much safer in, on and around water. In this course you and your instructors add advanced aquatic skills challenges including stride entries, compact jumps and lifesaving kicks like eggbeater and scissor kick. You will develop strength and power in breaststroke sprints over 25 m and will complete the 300 m workout. Days listed are start dates.
