UW Dance Company
The UW Dance Company is the University of Waterloo's only competitive dance team. As a club we compete in 3 varsity competitions each year against University and College teams from across Canada. We are currently ranked in the top 10 University teams at all competitions and we also hold the title of 2015 Rhythm Cup Winners. We choreograph, train, and perform in a variety of styles including tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, acro, hip-hop, lyrical, and contemporary. All of our routines are choreographed by current students on the team and we take pride in the amazing talent of our dancers. Each member of our team is hardworking, dedicated, and passionate about dance. We train and rehearse for numerous hours a week. The club runs from September to April each year.
*NOTE*This club requires a high degree of dance skill and competition experience. Auditions for the team occur ONLY at the beginning of September on a weekend. Team commitment is for the entire season (Sept-Apr). The specific audition date is posted on our social media prior to. All dance company member decisions are made by the current team captains and are final.
