Avalanche Level 1 (Jan. 31-Feb. 2)

This class follows the Level 1 guidelines of the American Avalanche Association. You will learn how to access and understand local avalanche information, steps to prepare for safe travel in avalanche terrain, ways to identify avalanche terrain in the field, procedures for basic companion rescue and more.

There are two evening sessions and two full field days.

Class days:  Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, 5-8 p.m., ED 214

Field days:  Feb. 2 and 3, Lost Trail
